We've had some fantastic results at some recent shows - well done to everyone who has competed! Read on to find out more....
Another successful day showjumping at Sands, with teams entered for the Novice and Intermediate classes. The Novice team of Izzy Martin (Dexter), Lucy Weller (Spider) and Raife Tansey (Back to Black) achieved an impressive third placing out of eighteen teams in a very competitive class. This success was echoed in the next class by the intermediate team, Izzy Martin (Dexter), Lucy Weller (Delphina), Steph Wescott (Caterina III) and Raife Tansey (Back to Black) who were also third in this class - having lead for most of the way through! In both classes the teams finished on a score of zero penalty points, a very impressive feat.
Golden Cross, results soon...
A first ODE (One Day Event) for the Weald team! Two individuals entered the Novice class for this event - Lucy Weller (Delphina) and Steph Wescott (Caterina III). Following some pleasing work in the Dressage, both horses jumped clear over the Showjumping course. Delphina and Lucy completed the cross country strongly - though unfortunately incurred penalties for a cheeky stop along the way, and despite a slight hiccup (!), Steph and Caterina completed XC with 6 time faults to add to their dressage score. Steph was placed 7th in the Section, finishing on a score of 39 pens.
South East Showjumping QUALIFIER - Royal Leisure - 19th June 2011
Results coming soon....
Another successful day, with the Weald team of Megan Ayre (Noaf), Steph Wescott (Caterina III) and Lucy Weller (Delphina) winning the Open class in Felbridges new outdoor arena. Megan and Steph were also placed individually (3rd and 4th respectively) in this class - well done Weald!
A win for our Open team - Megan Ayre, Isabelle Smith, Gabby Alker and Duncan Harvie who completed on a score of 12 faults. Individual placings also went to Isabelle (2nd), Gabby (4th) and Megan (5th) - a fabulous result!
Another very successful day for the Weald team (Izzy Martin, Gabby Alker, Issy Smith and Lucy Weller (from L-R in photo)) who won both the Novice and Intermediate Team classes! Exceptional riding in the team event from Issy Smith meant she shaved nearly ten seconds off the next fastest competitior's time - to help the team clinch the victory; this was then followed by great success in the Novice individual class, with Issy winning this as well!

Double Victory for the Weald! The Weald team won both of the classes for which we had teams entered - the Novice and Individual Showjumping, thanks to very careful and skillful riding from all of our team members and, quite possibly, our new 'team tactic' - "win"! The members of the winning team for both the classes were; Issy Smith (who also won the Novice Individual class!), Lucy Weller, Gabby Alker (photo) and Tessa Coughlan - well done girls! A report on the team following this competition was published in the March issue of Local Rider Magazine.
